It's such a shame. Mantic are so nearly there, they clearly have the facilities (with Renedra casting for them) to do plastics well but they just lack that last 10% and it is always the poses. The detail of the armour and weapons is lovely, really nice but they are both keeling at attention backs ramrod straight and there is something wrong with the neck joints. Come on Mantic, you are so, so nearly there, give us that extra 10%
Actually those will be resin AFAIK. Anyway, I know exactly what you mean. Many Mantic miniatures seem to be just a little bit off and I agree on the poses.
When I first viewed this post and those pictures, I thought "wow, Forgeworld has gone downhill." Those models are very similar to the Cadian Heavy Weapon teams, I am worried that Mantic is going to be slapped with a copyright infringement lawsuit. I have a couple of the Star Marines figures from a Canadian (I think) company that was sued out of operation by GW in the late '80s or early '90s. Copyrights are only yours if you have the ability and determination to enforce them, and GW certainly has both.

ReplyDeleteActualy I expect that there is some kind of deal between GW and Mantic. Otherwise GW would already be all over them.
